Hello,

finally, after a lot of trial and error, I figured out a way to build
the current SVN version of Open Dylan on MacOS X on my PowerPC iBook.

I've attached a description of the build procedure to this e-mail and
I'm making the resulting binaries available here:

http://www.cip.physik.uni-muenchen.de/~Thomas.Chust/opendylan-1.0beta4-ppc-darwin.dmg

The disk image contains installer packages for the Boehm Demers Weiser
garbage collector library and for Open Dylan.

To install the software, just mount the image and open the "Open
Dylan.mpkg" package. If you already have libgc.1.dylib installed in
/usr/local/lib, you can deselect installation of the garbage collector
library.

The installer will put the garbage collector library under /usr/local,
the Open Dylan compiler under /usr/local/opendylan and it will modify
your /etc/profile to place /usr/local/opendylan/bin in your path.

After installation and restarting your shells you can launch the
compiler as minimal-console-compiler or as dyc.

I hope this is useful for somebody :-)

cu,
Thomas
